Doug Sjoquist will lead a session on using the new iOS 5 parent/child view controller pattern.
We will build a simple app to create a parent desktop with individual child views that can be moved, resized, and rotated using gesture recognizers.
Bring your laptop and Xcode and follow along, or just watch and listen. Our goal is to have a "desktop app" that has a very limited version of something like this:

Kevin,
Newbies are welcome. The twitter integration that will be discussed is fairly straightforward and should be easy to follow. Lots of people bring laptops, but it isn't required.
I'm looking for an expert private tutor to get me over the initial learning curve. I am a 20 year Unix/C programmer trying to get my first Mac App finished.
Tom-
I am in the same situation. I have found the Book: Objuctive-C for Absolute Beginners. The authors web site is http://forum.x-celme.com
. I know this is not as advanced as you, but it has been helping me get back into programming and ready to start programming my first app. The authors of the book have a weekly free on-line chat. the web site is: www.xcelme.com/free-sedinars.php
Also, they have a forum Blog that the authors answer questions. I hope this helps!
Is it OK for newbies to attend? I've been teaching myself ios slowly through lots of tutorials. Do people bring laptops or it just easier to listen and take notes?
